CONSUMER PRICES -- Chart. This AP digital embed chart shows the percentage change in consumer prices from the previous year, as measured by the consumer price index, since 2010. In August, consumer prices rose 2.9%, up from July's 2.7% figure. Excluding food and energy, prices rose 3.1% from the previous year, unchanged from July. This chart is current as of Sept. 11, 2025, and will update monthly. Source: Bureau of Labor Statistics.
