Taylor Swift's Concert Film Hits Streaming In December: Here's The Key Date And Which Platforms You Can Use

A concert film from Taylor Swift has broken records at the box office and was part of her record-breaking Eras Tour.

The film is set to hit streaming services beginning next month.

What Happened: Swift is having an incredible 2023 with a tour that’s breaking records, a concert film and worldwide demand for her music.

On Monday, Swift announced that her "Eras Tour" concert film will be released for at-home viewing beginning on Dec. 13, which is the singer's birthday. The film will be available to rent on demand in the U.S., Canada and other countries.

The release will also include three songs that were not included in the theatrical release, as shared by Variety. The songs are "Wildest Dreams," "The Archer" and "Long Live."

Swift's website reveals logos for AppleTV from Apple Inc (NASDAQ:AAPL), Prime Video from Amazon.com, Inc. (NASDAQ:AMZN), Xfinity from Comcast Corporation (NASDAQ:CMCSA), and Google Play and YouTube, which are both owned by Alphabet Inc (NASDAQ:GOOG) (NASDAQ:GOOGL). These platforms are anticipated to be the outlets where the film can be rented or bought, although prices have not yet been announced.

Why It's Important: The official on-demand release comes as speculation builds for which streaming platform will get the rights to stream the concert film to subscribers for free in the future. Apple, Netflix, Disney and Amazon were all listed previously as rumored streaming homes for the film.

The "Eras Tour" concert film has grossed $178.2 million domestically and $70.7 million worldwide, nearing the $250 million worldwide gross figure.

Swift is currently on a break from the Eras Tour with dates set to resume in Japan on Feb. 7, 2024.
